Chinatown Street Events

Chinatown will offer something different on the first Saturday of every month when its streets come alive with a range of exciting events such as free films, popup bars, multicultural celebrations and the much loved Chinatown Street Markets.

Chinatown is the place to celebrate the Gold Coast’s diversity through culture, design, people and food, right in the heart of the CBD.

Event Dates

2 July – Chinatown Street Markets: Try a range of cuisines from across Asia 4pm-8pm

6 August – Crafternoon: Come on down to the corner of Regent Lane and Young Street Southport from 11am- 2pm for some Craft en masse! A casual get together between friends (or soon to be friends) where we get all arty and crafty. Our Community Crafternoons combine the concepts of a casual craft afternoon with a craft workshop. You can BYO a craft project, share your craft skills with a friend or a stranger, or learn from the Suitcase Rummage team and create a simple DIY craft project. There will also be live music from a talented local artist.

3 September – Chinatown Street Markets: Try a range of cuisines from across Asia 4pm-8pm

Gold Coast Chinatown, Young and Davenport Streets, Southport.

Getting there

Ride the G: Disembark at the Southport station, Nerang Street.

Ride your bike and park in one of the many bike racks.

Public parking is available at the Athol Paterson, Mal Burke and Carey Park car parks.
